DAVEY’S BACKYARD SKIFFLE BAND & INSTRUMENT MAKING WORKSHOP

Join Davey and create your own instrument from everyday objects in this free, hands-on 2 hour workshop, suitable to all ages.

Materials and tools provided, or bring along your own! Then jump into the fun and perform with your handmade instrument in the lively Backyard Skiffle Show that follows. 

If you are keen to participate, please bring any of the
following that could be useful…

▸ Standard ice lolly / popsicle sticks, corrugated cardboard,
crown bottle caps (beer bottle caps)
▸ Standard cardboard – similar to cereal packets
▸ Small rubber bands
▸ Standard tin cans – similar to baked beans (preferably
with smooth edges like the ring pull type)
▸ Any plastic bottles with removable lids
▸ Coffee cups with lids
▸ Raw pasta, rice, beans, etc. (please be aware of choking
hazards for younger kids / siblings and any allergies)
▸ Broom handles, 10L Paint / builders buckets, tea chest’s
▸ Metal biscuit tins
▸ Baking paper, balloons, sellotape, any stickers etc for
decoration
▸ Thick fishing line, strin
